The permanent collection of the Greek Telecommunications Museum presents both telecommunications devices of the pre-electric era in Greece (Antiquity and Byzantium), and inventions and technological achievements of the post-electric period (telegraphy, telephony, maritime and satellite communications), making the Museum Telecommunications a unique destination for all those who are enchanted by the world of human communication.
In the Greek Telecommunications Museum you will learn about:
- The "beacons" package optical communication networks of Greek antiquity, but also 'kaminovigles "Byzantine.
- The inventors of the 18th and 19th century, starting from the Samuel Morse (1791-1872) with the electric telegraph and the code named after him, passing the inventor of the telephone, Alexander Graham Bell (1847-1922) who achieved the miracle the transfer of the human voice by electricity and resulting in Guglielmo Marconi (1874-1937) who invented the radio, communication without wire, between remote areas.
- The unique hand-operated telephones dating from the beginning of telephony in Greece (1885).
